Everything you need to know before choosing

The Coway Airmega 100 is ideal for bedrooms, larger home offices, nurseries and small living spaces. Its compact 22 × 22 cm footprint makes it easy to place without taking up much floor space, while its approximately 240 m³/h CADR provides strong cleaning performance for its size. This makes it particularly well suited to bedrooms, where it can provide ample air-cleaning capacity while operating from just 20 dB at its quietest setting. It can also be used in other smaller spaces, including a study, nursery, studio or compact living room.

The Airmega 50 and Airmega 100 offer many similar everyday features, including 360° air intake, real-time air-quality monitoring, Auto Mode, quiet operation and a three-stage filtration system. The main difference is their air-cleaning capacity and recommended room size. Choose the Airmega 50 for a standard or smaller bedroom where a compact purifier is the priority. Choose the Airmega 100 for a larger bedroom, a home office or a small living room where you want faster air circulation and stronger cleaning performance. The Airmega 50 has a CADR of 120.1 m³/h, while the Airmega 100 delivers approximately 240 m³/h.

The Airmega 100 has an official room coverage of up to 63 m² and a CADR of approximately 240 m³/h. In a 25 m² room with a 2.4 m ceiling, that is about four air changes per hour, making it a strong choice when you want faster particle reduction in a bedroom, home office or small living room. Actual results vary with ceiling height, layout, ventilation and fan speed.

CADR stands for Clean Air Delivery Rate. It shows how much filtered air an air purifier can deliver in one hour and is one of the most useful figures for comparing cleaning performance. The Airmega 100 has a CADR of approximately 240 m³/h. Because room-coverage claims may be calculated differently by each manufacturer, compare CADR together with your room size and ceiling height.

The Airmega 100 operates from 20 dB at its quietest setting, so it is designed to minimise disturbance in bedrooms and nurseries. The mood light and display can also be switched off. As with any fan-based air purifier, noise rises at higher speeds, so Auto Mode or the lowest fan setting is usually best overnight if you are sensitive to sound.

The Airmega 100 can help reduce airborne particles commonly associated with hay fever and allergies, including pollen, household dust and pet dander. It is certified by ECARF Germany, whose Seal of Quality is awarded only when a product can demonstrate that it meets defined allergy-friendly criteria through audits or studies. This provides an additional, independent level of assurance compared with products that have not obtained this certification. For best results during pollen season, run it continuously in a correctly sized room and keep windows closed when outdoor pollen levels are high. It is not a medical treatment and cannot guarantee symptom relief.

The Airmega 100 is certified by ECARF, the European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation, providing independent verification against defined allergy-friendly criteria. It does not currently carry the British Allergy Foundation (BAF), now Allergy UK, Seal of Approval. UK customers who specifically prefer a BAF-certified Coway air purifier may consider the Airmega Mighty, Jet, 350 or 450. Where a Coway model carries both BAF and ECARF certification, it can be described as double certified.

The Airmega 100 is designed to reduce common indoor airborne pollutants, including dust, pollen, pet dander and other fine particles, while its deodorisation layer helps reduce certain everyday odours. Coway calls the optimised combination of the filters, sealed product structure and 360° airflow design HyperCaptive Filtration. In laboratory testing, this complete air-cleaning system demonstrated 99.999% removal of particles as small as 0.01 microns under the stated test conditions. Actual performance may vary depending on room size, fan speed, ventilation and indoor pollution levels.

The Airmega 100 uses a washable pre-filter, a high-density HEPA filter and a deodorisation filter. However, an air purifier’s real-world performance is not determined by the HEPA filter alone. It also depends on how the filters work together, how well the filter is sealed inside the unit, the airflow path and how the whole product is optimised. Coway refers to this integrated approach as HyperCaptive Filtration. The system is engineered to capture larger dust and hair first, filter fine airborne particles, and then reduce certain odours before cleaned air is returned to the room.

No. The Airmega 100 uses mechanical filtration without an ioniser or UV system and is promoted as 100% ozone-free. This makes it suitable for bedrooms, children’s rooms and households that prefer purification without ionisation. Always use and maintain the product according to the user manual.

The deodorisation filter can help reduce certain everyday odours and VOCs, but an air purifier cannot remove every smell or gas. Strong or continuous sources such as cooking fumes, smoke, damp or cleaning chemicals should also be managed through source removal and suitable ventilation. The Airmega 100 supports normal indoor-air management; it does not replace ventilation.

The built-in particle sensor monitors surrounding air quality. In Auto Mode, the Airmega 100 adjusts its fan speed automatically according to the detected particle level. This gives stronger airflow when pollution rises and quieter, lower-speed operation when the detected air is cleaner, without frequent manual adjustment.

No. The Airmega 100 is designed to deliver effective, straightforward air purification without an app. Its built-in air-quality sensor continuously monitors the surrounding air, while Auto Mode adjusts the fan speed automatically according to the detected particle level. For the best day-to-day results, you can simply leave it running in Auto Mode. The intuitive control panel makes the main functions easy to use, with no phone pairing, app compatibility, software updates or connection errors to manage.

The real-time air-quality indicator uses four colours—blue, green, yellow and red—to show the detected particle level at a glance. Blue represents the cleanest detected condition, while red indicates the highest detected particle level. Place the unit where curtains, walls or furniture do not block the sensor or airflow.

The main HEPA and deodorisation filter is designed to last up to 12 months under typical use. Actual life varies according to daily running time, fan speed and the amount of dust, pollen, smoke or pet-related pollution in the home. Check the filter indicator and replace the filter when due to maintain airflow and cleaning performance.

The pre-filter can be cleaned as directed in the user manual, but the main HEPA and deodorisation filter should not be washed. Water can damage the filter media and reduce performance. Make sure any washable part is completely dry before reinstalling it, and use the genuine Airmega 100 replacement filter when replacement is due.

Yes. Air purifiers are most effective when used consistently because airborne particles can return through movement, pets, open doors and windows, and everyday activities. Use a low setting overnight or Auto Mode for automatic adjustment throughout the day. Keep the air inlet and outlet clear and follow the placement guidance in the manual.

Yes. The Airmega 100 includes 1-, 2-, 4- and 8-hour timer settings, an adjustable mood light and a child-lock function. The display and lighting can be switched off for sleep. These controls make it practical for bedrooms, nurseries, home offices and everyday use.

1. Airmega air purifiers have been proven to capture airborne dust, pollen and dander based on testing conducted by KCL (Korea Conformity Laboratories). Testing was carried out in accordance with the Korea Air Cleaning Association standard (SPS-KACA 002-132:2022 Modified) to measure the removal rate of particles as small as 0.01㎛. Tests were conducted at maximum fan speed under standard room temperature and humidity conditions. Actual performance may vary depending on the user’s living environment. Tested with Airmega 50, 100, 150, Mighty AP-1512HH, C-Mighty AP-1512HHS, 350, 450.

2. Our HEPA filter complies with IEST-RP-CC007 standards, as tested by SGS (Société Générale de Surveillance).
